Who Is NoWu® & What Are the Basketball And…™ Programs?
NoWu® (NobodyOutWorksUs®) is a Charlotte-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to empower underserved youth by using basketball as a gateway to informed education and quality career opportunities. We equip young people with the skills, resources, and strategic connections they need to achieve lasting success — on and off the court.
Through our signature Basketball And…™ programs, we bridge the gap between athletics and career pathways — advancing workforce readiness, economic mobility, and long-term independence for every participant. By partnering with educational institutions, trade programs, and local employers, we provide real-world education and create access to real opportunities that inspire confidence, purpose, and sustainable success beyond the game.

Board President
With experience as a youth coach, trainer, and educator, Coach Suber drives the program’s forward-thinking community engagement efforts.
Raphael Sebastian
Board Vice President
Raphael, an accomplished corporate executive and CEO of a HR Transformation consulting firm, has a wealth of nonprofit leadership experience in youth sports, mentorship, and program development.
Robert Brown
Board Treasurer
Rob, the former Chief Financial Officer of the legendary New York Yankees, brings invaluable expertise and strategic insight to the program, shaped by years of leadership at one of the world’s most iconic sports franchises.
Ray Martin
Board Member
Ray brings exceptional vision, strong leadership and strategic expertise to our organization, leveraging his achievements as an NCAA championship-winning basketball coach and accomplished former player.
